It burns,


I have enjoyed the work behind driving.  That is, I have enjoyed the additional work needed to have loads processed.  I started as a new driver. Getting preloaded trailers. This is nice but you have to wait until the trailers are loaded for you.  There loaded and ready for you but others. This is done only after the live loads are processed. Drivers pull in to Glass plants and crane operators load the trailers and the drivers tarp the loads and they're off to the races.  It's not hard work. BUT when it's hot. It makes the work so much harder.  


Breathing in the heat, well for a big boy is harder than it is sitting in a truck cab with the air running.  Each breath is just supper headed air that does little to help you move faster. It makes simple work so much harder than it really has to be.  Drinking water only helps a little. I actually almost drink too much water and almost got sick.  


But when it’s nice out the work is almost fun.  It’s nice to climb on the trailers and pull the ropes to the tarp.  Get everything looking good for the ride down the road. I guess it’s pride because it reflects your efforts when your tarp is tight and organized.  To me it just looks good. A clean truck and a tight tarp. It makes me happy to be a trucker.

Two of my days of driving behind the wheel were over 550 miles.  After driving over 1000 miles in two days I put in my first 630 or more miles in for one day.  It was this Friday and I could have fallen into poor self-talk of victimhood because I didn't get paid for the miles.  I got training pay. So much

Maverick has to have the most intense, in-depth, complete and longest training available to new truck drivers. I'm still at least 10 days out from running on my own. I have to finish classes in Little Rock and then work a week or more in a glass factory. Is it worth it k me my money? Stay tuned!

Crossing America

I say that I am having fun?  Well I am in the momments that I am driving.  So when I am not my mind travels into the future, like where is this job really taking me? Then into the past as I ask am I running away from something just as much as I am running to a better income?  Well, when I am alone I process thoughts.  Well, I'm alone for days at a time and I process so many thoughts.  Such as "is this enough work to make me happy?"  Well, I am happy but I not only miss my little girl but I must want to be missed and welcomed home.   I will say this, I am able to influence my daughter more with the emails then I did when I was home.  I have her attention when she reads my emails and she is able to share with me her feelings about her drawings and her processes is drawings and the technologies she desires to have to draw her creations with.  In the past week alove she has gone to wanting her laptop fixed, her iPad fixed, a new drawing tabl...
